Chadha v. Dow Jones

May 14, 1999

The English Court of Appeal decided that when a plaintiff sues a publisher over publication on the internet, and both are resident outside the country, the onus is on the plaintiff to show that he has a sufficient connection with and a sufficient reputation in England for the case to be heard there.  Click here to go to The Times for their summary of Chadha v. Dow Jones.  It is in their Back Issue of May 18, 1999 on the Law Report page.
