MINISTER OF JUSTICE'S PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO BILL C-3

SUBMITTED TO THE HOUSE OF COMMONS

STANDING COMMITTEE ON JUSTICE AND HUMAN RIGHTS

PRIOR TO CLAUSE BY CLAUSE REVIEW

 

That Bill C-3, in Clause 109, be amended

(a) by replacing line 3 on page 107 with the following:

"to a young person who has received an adult"

(b) by replacing line 7 on page 107 with the following:

"person who has received a youth sentence"

(c) by replacing line 10 on page 107 with the following:

"section 2(1) committed after the young person attained the age of fourteen years, or an offence set out in"

 

That Bill C-3, in Clause 110, be amended by replacing lines 17 to 21 on page 108 with the following:

Exception:

(2) Information that would serve to identify a child or young person referred to in subsection (1) as having been a victim or a witness may be published, or caused to be published, by

(a) that child or young person after he or she attains the age of eighteen years or before that age with the consent of his or her parents; or

(b) the parents of that child or young person if he or she is deceased.
