Bill
C-79 passes third reading in the House of Commons with no amendments
On
May 25, 1999 the House of Commons Standing Committee on Justice and
Human Rights took a short time to decide to send the bill to the House
with no recommendations for change. On May 28, 1999 the bill
passed the report stage in the House, again with no change, and received
third reading. It has now been referred to the Senate.
- the Committee minutes
suggest some discussion of our concerns
- the debate in Committee
will be posted on their site within a couple of weeks
the "debate"
in the House made no mention of our concerns.
We are considering bringing
our concerns to the Chamber of sober second thought.
